In our recent article about the stunning Jeff Deegan watch buckle we added a little contest, awarding the lusciously thick auction catalogue of our upcoming Geneva auction to the lucky person who could guess from what type of leather this strap was made;
It took a while for the correct answer to come in. Main reason for this was that the leather used for this strap is very exotic and not so exotic at the same time. It is exotic because it is not used that often for a watch strap, but the animal from which the leather is made is very common in most parts of the world. The correct answer was;

A Rooster!
Unfortunately our lucky winner has requested to remain anonymous, but we are happy to report that the catalogue is on it’s way to him. And yes, of course Eric Clapton’s amazing Patek Philippe ref. 2499/100 is also covered in there!
